Add pairs of proper fractions with the same denominator and then convert the answer from an improper fraction to a mixed number. Fractions are represented on a bar to help children to visualise their value.

Find a number when given a fraction of that number. A visual tool to help children see how to first find a unit fraction of an unknown number, and then scale this unit fraction up to find the whole number.
Find the missing number to balance the decimal calculations. Levels include finding the sums and differences of decimal, U.t xU and multiplying and dividing decimals by 10, 100 or 1000. Choose a range of different objectives and they will be 'balanced' against each other.

A great game for practising a wide range of mathematical skills. Levels are based on objectives from the new maths curriculum from Year 1 to Year 6. Topics include: multiplication, addition, reading numbers, subtraction, fractions of numbers, Roman numerals, division, converting fractions to decimals and percentages and simplifying fractions.
You can choose to play a single level, a selection of levels, or choose all the objectives from a year group (within the same topic). There is a full list of levels below.
Recognise and continue the sequences involving fractions, shapes and colours. Lots of control over level including unit fractions and improper fractions. Extend children by choosing harder levels which require extending the sequence by finding general rules.
The scale is loaded with between 1 and 4 weights. The user then has to balance the scales, converting between g and kg in the process. There is a great deal of control over the level.
A great starter to explore addition, subtraction / difference and partitioning as well as the relationship between grams and kilog More…rams. Levels include converting whole kg to g (and vice versa), converting fractions of kg (eg 1/4kg = 250g) and weights in kg to 1 and 2 decimal places.

View full screen in your browser. This ITP allows you to divide a green strip into a number of equal parts and colour the individual parts in yellow. You can label the strip to show what proportion the coloured yellow parts are of the whole strip. This can be shown as a vulgar fraction, decimal (to 3 decimal places) or percentage. The ratio of yellow to green can also be displayed. You can create more then one strip and drag these up and down the screen to compare strips. The ITP can be used to explore equivalence between fractions, decimals and percentages and the different representations of the same relative quantities. The equal parts on the strips can also be used to demonstrate how to calculate fractions and percentages of given amounts and to represent a horizontal bar chart. The ITP can be used to set up and solve ratio and proportion problems.
View full screen in your browser. This ITP allows you to demonstrate the effect of multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. By dragging cards from the set of digit cards, different decimal numbers can be displayed. These decimal numbers can be placed in either of the two middle rows. The cards in the first row move when the multiply or divide buttons are selected. The cards will not move if the result is greater than 99 999 or less than 0.01. The cards in the second row do not move in order to highlight the shift in the digits when multiplying or dividing. The ITP can be used to explore, and to encourage children to predict the effect of multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. The ITP can also be used to demonstrate the effect of repeated multiplication and division by 10.
